Great review of the RC3. I've been debating between the RC3 and RC4 for some time now. I think after seeing this that the RC3 might be a touch too small for what I'm looking for. Thanks again for the great review!
Knife, check out the RC4 if you think this is too small. I have smaller hands and this fits fine. I have the RC5 also and I think it might be a little too big in the handle. Review to come (hopefully soon).
A couple comments-- Regarding the blocky handle--get yourself an 8- or 10-inch half-round file, and file off whatever doesn't feel right. Then, sand out the file marks with 80-grit sandpaper. This is how I do it. If you can avoid scratching the exposed tang, that is nice.
On the Mora Clipper--my experience is, that the Clipper sheath climbed off of any belt we put it on. It had to be carried as a neck knife. I was disappointed. Much prefer the Craftsman line of sheaths. Now, I'm about to switch to the model 511, and make my own leather sheaths.

ReplyDeleteNice video review. I would be interested to see a comparison between the RAT RC-3 and The ESEE-3.
ReplyDeleteThe RC-3 and the ESEE 3 are the same knife...you are thinking of the Rat 3.

The RAT RC-3 did great despite its small size. I think the knife would be better if it had a better handle.
